Our Social Responsibility: Why We Do, What We Do...
We are Committed To Our Community

Support Children and Adolescents with HIV/AIDS and HIV/AIDS Research

HIV/AIDS. There is no cure for this global, infectious, pathological disease. HIV/AIDS affects every human
being in every part of the earth in some way. The global statistic reported by UNAIDS that is most disturbing
is that there are few direct HIV surveillance data available for children. The antenatal clinical surveys mainly
focus on capturing data for pregnant girls and women 15 years or older; and most national population
based surveys with HIV testing include only adults. HIV estimates for children are obtained through
modeling that is based Did you know that after 25 years of research and clinical trials, we still have not
stopped the spread of primarily on HIV prevalence in adult women (ages 15-49), fertility rates, and
assumptions about the survival of HIV-positive children (Stover et al.,2006; tover et al., in press). Such
estimates show that the number of children living with HIV globally continues to increase steadily. It is
estimated that more than 90% of children living with HIV acquired the virus during pregnancy, birth or
breastfeeding—forms of HIV transmission that can be prevented. Only a small fraction of HIV infections in
children are caused by contaminated injections, the transfusion of infected blood or blood products, sexual
abuse, sexual intercourse (although this is a  significant mode of transmission among adolescents), or
scarification (Kengeya-Kayondo et al., 1995; Mulder et al., 1996; Hauri, Armstrong & Hutin 2004; Kiwanuka
et al., 2004; Schmid et al., 2004).7  In view of this alarming statistic, it is critical that everyone become
educated, proactive, and involved in the fight to cure this life-threatening disease and save our children’s
lives. The HUSH Foundation is committed to doing just that but we need your help to accomplish our goal.
You can help us by becoming a sponsor of The HUSH Foundation and joining us in the fight to combat
HIV/AIDS.

The two key aspects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic that make it difficult to treat patients and prevent infection are
the inability to promote a wider understanding of HIV/AIDS-related issues, and combating the stigma and
discrimination among those who are not directly affected.

To address these key aspects, we have conduct Community Awareness & Outreach activities aimed at
drawing a multitude of people together to promote awareness about HIV/AIDS in a way that brings about a
full understanding of the disease, and raising funds to support children and adolescents affected by the
disease.

Our philanthropic fundraising activities provide an ideal marketing platform and perfect vehicle for
promoting awareness about critical health and social issues, raising funds, and providing a community
profile to nationally marketed targets with unique, powerful and untapped demographics.

If you hate HIV and AIDS as much as the children and adolescents who are
affected by it do,then you can still support our cause and donate to
The HUSH Foundation.

About the Event for Children with HIV/AIDS

Our most recent special event was the "Night of Jazz and Fashion By The Sea" Benefit Concert" held on
August 30, 2025 at the Hermosa Beach Community Theater, 710 Pier Avenue, in beautiful Hermosa
Beach, California. We thank all who supported us and attended this special charitable event.

The benefit concert consisted of a joyous environment filled with fun and excitement. Activities included live
jazz  entertainment by smooth Jazz Saxaphonist, Paul Taylor, Guitarist, Jay soto, and Percussionist, Ndugu
Chancler.

The show was incorporated with an exquisite high-fashion celebrity Fashion Show starring, Victoria Platt
Tilford, Terrell Tilford, Ashli Haynes, Sharon Thurmond, Dsean Terry, Ten Travis, and Parker Delon ripping
the runway wearing the fashion apparell of famous Designers Sue Wong, Dina Bar-el, After Eight, Somper
Furs, Ricardo Basta of Beverly Hills, Ariane Hats on Melrose, Taryn Rose shoes, Elmer Ave, and Cohesive.

In addition to the Jazz/ fashion show, we paid tribute to six legendary female jazz artists for their
extraordinary achievements in the field of Jazz: Lena Horne, Della Reese, Nancy Wilson, and in the
memory of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughan. Each Honoree was serenaded by six
fabulous singers who were transformed into the Honorees as follows: Vesta as Lena Horne, Alyson
Williams as Della Reese, and Deniece Williams as Nancy Wilson, Loretta Devine as Ella Fitzgerald,
Dawnn Lewis as Sarah Vaughan, and Shirley Jones (Jones Girls) as Billie Holiday. The tribute took the
audience on a journey back to the life and days of the past when the ladies of Jazz were in their prime.  It
highlighted their careers, contributions to the field of Jazz, and showed how the ladies of Jazz paved the
way for so many artists. In attendance to receive their 2008 Lifetime Achievement Awards were Lena Jones
on behalf of her grandmother Lena Horne, Della Reese, and Kacey Dennis on behalf of his mother Nancy
Wilson. Della Reese's statement was heartwarming when she said, "It is so wonderful being loved and
being in a room where everyone loves you." "You took me back to a wonderful time in my life." "I feel very
honored to receive this award and  I gracefully accept it."

The goal of The Hush Foundation was to raise $20,000 to support One Heartland for their programs and
services devoted to ensuring that children with HIV/AIDS have the social, psychological
and material support required to fulfill their potential in life and to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Joseph Stokes, Jr. Research Institute to support Pediatric HIV/AIDS Research.
