Having a natural born talent, California-born Brandi Taylor began dancing at the age of three (3) years old. When she was Five (5), she was signed by Twentieth Century Artists, Inc., one of the top Talent Agencies in Hollywood, on her very first audition. At age six (6), she won a scholarship to the Kennedy Dance Academy. There she studied tap and modern jazz with Paul Kennedy and was personally selected by Michael Jackson to dance in his video “Black or White.”…At age six-teen (16), Brandi was selected among thousands of children to represent Disney at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade (2000). She was cheer and song-leader captain at her high school, and was given the opportunity to choreograph many dances for her team. She made her professional debut in 2001, by choreographing her first stage act for singer Emen (opening act for The Jones Girls) at age seven-teen (17). Brandi attended Washington State University as a Pre-Med Student and became one of the school’s ECLECTIC Dance Team members. Although she excelled outstandingly, by her third year, it was evident that she really wanted to pursue a career in Dance. So, she made a life-changing decision to change her major to Dance and follow her dream to become a Dancer. Brandi transferred and graduated from El Camino College as a Dance Major and was selected to perform in several various school performances and concerts. Top of her class, she was the only student in her graduating class to receive an Academic Excellence Award in the Dance Major. She has been trained and is very versatile in many styles of dance: Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, African and Ballet. It was at El Camino College where her talent was noticed by Disney Choreographer, Katisha Adams, well renowned dancer and choreographer who took Brandi under her wings and invited her to join her professional Dance Company, “KPA Fusion Dance Repertoire”, where she became the Dance Captain. As the Dance Captain and member of KPA, she performed at the “2011 & 2012 African American Heritage Month Celebration for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Haskell Jackson’s “Unsigned Artists Showcase, the 2011 Taste of Soul “Flash Mob” , the South Bay Pavilion Carson “Concert at the Mall Series”, and the ATBLA Beach Party for Artists O-35; among many others. She was the Dance Captain and member of KPA Fusion Dance Repertoire for four (4) years. In the field of popular music, Brandi was one of the dancers for singer and New Artist, Kari Taylor and a dance company member of eFunk Dance Company, under the direction of Aaron Davis. In June 2015, Brandi was asked to join the “invite only” dance company, 2wisted Elegance L.A. Under the direction of Joey Cooper, the dance company is inspired by Janet Jackson, and through her work the company has produced many dances and tributes through swift precision based choreography. Brandi has been able to assist as well as perform with the company for the last 2 years. Although Brandi's central focus is dancing and performing, she is also a talented choreographer who has choreographed for San Pedro High School and assembled dancers as needed for many stage shows and personal performances. She has also ventured out by dancing background for various artists, and showing her creative side by artistically assisting and directing shows. Brandi also specializes in fusing exercise into technical dance routines. In December 2014 she became a certified GROOV3 Instructor. She currently teaches in Torrance and Orange County. Earlier this year (2017), Brandi was selected by Katisha Adams to work with her and assist in the choreography for the “Divas of Compton’ who were featured on the hit Lifetime television show, “Bring It and aired in May of 2017.” While she continues to let her dancing abilities flourish, Brandi is also a role model to the youth she works with at The HUSH Foundation, where she is the Executive Director. Her goal is to break the norm about how dancers should look.…"We all come in many shapes and sizes, but we all love to do one thing...and that's DANCE!!!"
